Prof. Lindsay Farmer

Lindsay Farmer is Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow. Professor Farmer's main areas of research interest are criminal law, legal history and legal theory. His publications include Criminal Law, Tradition and Legal Order. Crime and the Genius of Scots Law 1747 to the Present (Cambridge 1997); (ed. with S. Veitch) The State of Scots Law. Law and Government after the Devolution Settlement (Butterworths, 2001); (with S. Veitch and E. Christodulidis) Jurisprudence: Themes and Concepts (London, 2007); (ed. with M. Dubber) Modern Histories of Crime and Punishment (Stanford CA, 2007); (with A. Duff, S. Marshall and V. Tadros) The Trial on Trial III, Towards a Normative Theory of the Criminal Trial (Hart, 2007). Professor Farmer is joint editor-in-chief of the New Criminal Law Revew and is on the editorial board of other journals including Criminal Law and Philosophy and Law, Culture and the Humanities.
