About me

I am originally from Minnesota in the United States. After working for several years as a Mechanical Drafter, I decided to move in a completely different direction and study philosophy. I completed my undergraduate work at the University of Minnesota in 2008;and completed my Masters degree through the joint St. Andrews/Stirling Philosophy(SASP) MLitt program in 2009. I began my SASP PhD studies in the fall of 2009.

Research Interests

Thesis/research: The Self & Personal Identity, Embodied Cognition, Phenomenology, Merleau-Ponty, Heidegger.

My research focuses on integrating Analytic perspectives on Personal Identity, with the bodily basis of Self found in Embodied Cognition, with contributions from Continental Phenomenologists like Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Martin Heidegger.

Other Research Interests: History of Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Science, Metaphysics.

Non-Academic Interests: Reading, and Traveling in Europe
