| About me |
|
I joined the Department in September 2004, shortly after being awarded my Ph.D. |
Research |
My research interests centre on issues in the philosophy of action, the philosophy of perception, and epistemology. I am interested in the nature of bodily action. I have written on the relationship between bodily action and bodily movement. And I am currently working on a series of essays on the epistemology of bodily action. I am also interested in the nature of objectivity. I have written essays on the relationship between objectivity and idealism in the work of John McDowell and Donald Davidson. And I am currently working on related issues in the work of Hilary Putnam. I hope eventually to bring these essays together into a monograph on objectivity and idealism. I am also interested in the epistemology of perceptual knowledge. I have recently completed a monograph on the nature and value of knowledge (with Alan Millar of the University of Stirling and Duncan Pritchard of the University of Edinburgh). And I am currently working on a series of essays which discuss matters arising from this monograph. |
