About me

I joined the Department in 1998 after completing my PhD at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Research

My philosophical interests are in normative moral theory, metaethics, and epistemology, and my current research is focused on the nature of the virtues. In particular, I am interested in (reviving) the possibility that the virtues are forms of knowledge.

Teaching

This semester I am teaching on 7112 - Introduction to Moral Philosophy, and 71J4 - Moral Theory. I am also teaching an elective on Susan Haack's Evidence and Inquiry.
