About me

I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Iceland, and an MA and a PhD in Philosophy from University College London. After completing my PhD I was a teaching assistant and guest lecturer at Stirling for two academic years. I currently hold a Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellowship at the University of Cambridge and will take up a position in Stirling as Lecturer in September 2012.

Current and Past Research

My PhD concerned the nature and persistence of persons. I defended a version of animalism; the thesis that - contrary to dominant Lockean accounts of personal identity – we are identical to rather than merely constituted by the animals we walk around with. Subsequently, I have developed strands from this work, and moved on to questions in the metaphysics of objects more generally.
